Microlaena stipoides – Weeping grass


A tufted or mat-forming perennial. Long slender flower heads which turn dark purple as seeds develop, droop gracefully above bright green leaves in spring and autumn. Leaves to 20cm. Can be used as a soft lawn for low traffic. High drought, frost, salt and acid tolerance. Does not tolerate lime/alkaline soils.
